Five research papers under the forum's theme, “Conflict and Change in the Arab World,” have won the first research competition for the youth category launched in the 9th Al Jazeera Forum, which will take place on 4-6 May in Doha.
A large number of youth in the Arab world and beyond took part in the competition. The judging panel for the competition received 204 research papers in both Arabic and English from various countries including Morocco, Sudan, Jordan, Tunisia, Syria, Algeria, Palestine, Mauritania, Yemen, Egypt, Somalia, Libya, Iraq, Lebanon, Russia, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Turkey and the United States.
The participating papers were judged in two stages by a panel from outside Al Jazeera Media Network consisting of the following persons:
- Dr. Fathi Al-Jaraie, Professor at the University of Tunis.
- Dr. Abdullah Walad Abdel Rahman Ahmed, Professor at Qatar University.
- Dr. Sayf Al-Dine Abdel-Fattah, Professor at Cairo University.
- Dr. Heba Raouf Ezzat, Professor at Cairo University.
- Dr. Saeed Al-Siddiqi, Professor at the University of Al-Ain, United Arab Emirates.
