Pishmagan Kavir Yazd named best cycling team in Asia

Iranian cycling club, Pishgaman Kavir Yazd, has been named the greatest team in Asia, thanks to superb performances at the second edition of Track Clubs Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) Cup staged in Tehran late last month.
In the latest classification published by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), which is the world governing body for sports cycling, the Yazd-based outfit received 833 points and was placed ahead of another Iranian squad, Tabriz Petrochemical Team, with 665 in the continental ranking.
Chinese Taipei’s RTS-Santic Racing Team claimed the third place with 431 points, while Japanese Bridgestone-Anchor Cycling Team occupied the fourth slot, having collected 271 points.
Meanwhile, Iran national men's cycling team won the top Asian spot with 1,516 points. The Persians were followed by the Kazakh team, who racked up 602 points.
National Japanese and South Korean cycling teams were named the third- and fourth-ranked Asian squads with 521 and 276 points.
Pishmagan Kavir Yazd topped the medal count table at the end of the second edition of Track Clubs ACC Cup staged in Tehran with a total of 10 medals (6 golds, three silvers and one bronze).
Iran's Mes Kerman Cycling Team stood second with four medals (2 golds, one silvers and one bronze). The United States finished in the third spot, having collected 13 gold, 16 silver and ten bronze medals.
Tak Sport Cycling Team, another Iranian club, finished in the third spot, receiving one gold, three silver and four bronze medals.
The second edition of the Track Clubs ACC Cup opened in Tehran, Iran, on October 23, and concluded on October 25.
