Training Projects

 

The first project supported by the United Nations Development Program from October 2012 to January 2013

Development of the capacities of the Tunisian Civil Society Organizations and some Organs of the United Nations in the field of «Strategic Planning depending on the approach based on Human Rights and the management approach based on results».

 Specific Objectives :

• Introducing Human Rights System.

• Training on Strategic Planning Mechanisms in accordance with the approach based on Human Rights.

• Training on Planning Mechanisms in accordance with the Management Approach based on results.

Activities:

Four training sessions according to the following schedule:

• Bizerte: from the 11th to the 14th October 2012.

• Sousse: from the 15th to the 18th November 2012.

• Sidi Bouzid: from the 06th to the 09th December 2012.

• Tataouine: from the 11th to the 14th January 2012.

Target group:

• 100 participants from Associations and Non-Governmental Organizations working in the field of Human Rights.

• Organs of the United Nations.

The second project with the support of the Swedish Agency for International Cooperation, from July 2011 to February 2012.

 Overall objective:

• Provide resources and information and develop the capacity of Civil Society in order to play an active role in the process of democratic transition in the Arab region.

 Sub-goals:

• Develop the capacity of Civil Society and the activists of Social Networking in the field of Human Rights.

• Building an Arab Resource Center in the field of democratic transitions.

• Exchange experiences and ideas on issues of democratic transition.

 Activities:

• Create an Electronic Resource Center for the exchange of knowledge and resources that cover democratic transition operations.

• Organize regional experts meetings.

• Organize regional circles of discussion.

• Train associations on Strategic Planning.

• Train bloggers and journalists on the role of blogging in the process of democratic transition.

• Set up an Electronic Media Platform for the exchange of experiences and information on Human Rights issues.

Target group:

• Arab Civil Society Organizations and new actors.

• Bloggers, Internet activists, citizens and journalists.

• Media.

• Political Parties.

• Arab professional associations (journalists, lawyers and teachers ...)

• Arab Trade Unions.

• Community-based Organizations.

• National institutions for Human Rights.

The third project with the support of the United Nations Fund for Democracy: from February 2012 to January 2014.

 
The general framework of the project (depending on the framework of the Strategic Plan) :

The role of Social Networking and Blogging in the Arab revolutions by shedding light on the political and economic, social and cultural situations in their own countries.

Lack of bloggers' knowledge and social networking activists about the standards and principles of Human Rights and their inability to use effective methods of advocacy and defense online.

• Overall goals of the Strategic Plan and its Indicators :

Expand the circle of beneficiaries from the activities of the Arab Institute for Human Rights by going to the new actors in the field of Human Rights such as the bloggers and the activists in the social networking.

 Objectives of the program:

This project aims at developing the capacities of citizens, journalists and bloggers in the Arab region by promoting and protecting Human Rights in order to participate more effectively in the process of democratic transition in the region.

This is achieved through the:

-1 Increase of knowledge and practical skills of young bloggers and journalists in Arab countries targeted by the project in the field of Human Rights and democracy.

2-Development of the capacities of young journalists and bloggers in the Arab countries involved in the project through the use of techniques and tools to defend Human Rights and organize awareness campaigns by using the Internet.

3-Encouragement of communication and coordination among youth, citizens, journalists and bloggers in the Arab countries involved in the project through the development / creation of a communication network ,in order to improve their participation in the path of democratic transition in the Arab region.
