Paediatric Nephrology Centres in the United Kingdom

Kidney disease in children is rare and needs specialised treatment. Paediatric Nephrology services in the United Kingdom have been established in 13 centres, 10 of which perform kidney transplants. Click on the links for more information on individual centres. Specialised treatments such as dialysis are established in these centres. With the development of clinical networks and shared care clinics in local hospitals, patients can also be given treatment closer to home whenever possible. More details can be found in the RCPCH document Care of Children with Kidney Disease.

Since 1996 all paediatric transplantation has taken place here.
