A photographer has managed to capture the raw power of waves breaking in stormy conditions on one of Canada's Great Lakes. Professional photographer Dave Sandford from London, Ontario was drawn to Lake Erie at a time of year (mid-October through December) when the Great Lakes can act more like oceans than lakes. With long-gone sunny days at the beach just a distant memory, it is winter’s Arctic weather systems that transform the Great Lakes into wickedly wild and treacherous bodies of water.
