"It is very exciting to see the change taking place in the Indian film industry. Indian audiences' taste and choices are getting better now," added actor Irrfan Khan. He further added that Indian stories need to be told, people need to talk about the real India and Indian directors need to do that. Talking about his recent film Piku, he said, "according to me it was Deepika Padukone's film. She was the main attraction."
Actress Deepika Padukone, whose recent release Piku minted over Rs 29 crore within four days of its release, says that she hopes films don't need promotional activities in future. "But if the producers and marketing team believe that promoting a film will help in reaching out to a lot more people, then why not? Because we work really hard," said Deepika.
While promoting her upcoming film Piku, actress Deepika Padukone said, "I hope that there comes a when films don't need promotion. And I think we are almost there. The audience today is so perceptive. They see the trailer and know whether they want to watch it or not."
