MARC Records

Books at JSTOR offers free MARC records from OCLC. The MARC records are available to all participating institutions, regardless of whether they are OCLC affiliates. A detailed guide to setting up OCLC Collection Manager to receive MARC records for Books at JSTOR titles is available here.  In addition, OCLC has recorded a demonstration that is available on its website.

If you have any questions about the MARC records, please contact John Kiplinger at john.kiplinger@ithaka.org for assistance.

Discovery Services

JSTOR provides metadata and full text to these discovery partners:
Ex Libris – Primo and Alma
ProQuest – Summon
EBSCO Discovery Service
OCLC WorldCat Discovery Services

For those participating in the Demand-Driven Acquisition program, here’s how to update your link resolver or discovery service knowledge base with the titles in your profile:
If your profile includes all titles in Books at JSTOR’s DDA program, you can select the Books at JSTOR DDA target/package to activate all the titles in the knowledge base.
If you set up a customized profile, you can obtain MARC records for the items in your profile using OCLC's Collection Manager and load them into your library's OPAC, and set up your discovery product to index the MARC records from your OPAC. Alternatively, you can upload your institution's holdings file into your knowledge base. JSTOR will also send an update file to you on a weekly basis to reflect the addition of new titles that meet your profile criteria.

If you have additional questions, please contact us at discoveryservices@ithaka.org.

Books at JSTOR LibGuide

Libraries can link to the Books at JSTOR LibGuide at http://jstor.libguides.com/books to provide users with an introduction to the ebook content and features.
If you’re using LibGuides v2, you can also copy the LibGuide to your own site and then modify it or use parts of it on your own guides.  To do this, log in and select “Create Guide” from your Dashboard, then select “Copy content/layout from an existing guide.”  Choose “Community Guides,” then search for “http://jstor.libguides.com/books” and select the guide from the search results.  Enter a title and description, and click “Create Guide” to copy the guide to your site.  You can modify the guide as you wish.  Note that this process creates a copy of the guide, so any subsequent changes made to the original guide will not affect your copy, and vice versa.
If you have any suggestions for additions to the LibGuide, please contact us at education@jstor.org
