We are partnering with:
- Profoto Photography
- Sparling Studios (a.k.a. Mr Scribbles!)
- Image Out Graphics
Profoto Photography will be hosting a free photo booth for the evening - get your picture taken and have a digital copy emailed to you for free!
Sparling Studios will be here displaying and discussing his wide range of artistic services. Bring him the business card, menu or brochure from 3 other businesses in the event and he'll draw you a free cartoon on the spot. He has free kittens!
Image Out Graphics, Perry's up-and-coming graphics and signage business, will be here with some handouts and examples of his work. Check it out!
Burlingham Books is offering:
- Latte/capuccino demonstration at 6:30pm - see the skill that goes into our espresso drinks every day and get a close-up look at our new espresso machine!
- A small-scale scavenger hunt between our store and i.s.e. upstairs (participate for a chance to win a free pastry, free regular coffee, or $1 off your next purchase)
Speaking of i.s.e., there will be a congruous open house between us and them - walk from our store up the back stairs to meet the people of In Site Enterprises and their Main & More partners: Cornucopia Frame Shop, Rocket Commercial Real Estate, and Sweet Sarah's! See what they have to offer (i.s.e. is serving wine and one would assume Sarah has confections - we can't wait!)
We're back baby! Burlingham Books espresso 2.0!
Our espresso machine (blue in more than one sense of the word) has died. The new one comes Thursday. Until then, we're making do. Plenty of regular coffee, fruit smoothies, and the like. But it's still a sad day.
In addition to all the other fine products at Burlingham Books, on Farmers' Market Saturdays, there is face-painting out front.

What is your favorite children's book and why?
Submit your answer in a comment or email by May 12th and we will print it out and feature it in our front windows as part of our 2012 Children's Book Week celebrations! We would of course love any replies brought to us in person as well, if you're more of a pen and paper type. If you wish to remain anonymous, please ask that we omit your name.
Remember, "children's book" covers everything from from The Very Hungry Caterpillar, to Goosebumps, all the way up to classics like The Hobbit and current young adult favorites such as The Hunger Games series.
Spread the word by printing our handy form and showing it to your friends and family so they can share their favorite as well. Encourage literacy in youth and ask a child you know what their favorite book is; we definitely think kids should submit their answers too!
Some answers we've already received, proudly displayed in our window next to the 2012 Children's Book Week poster.
