Prime Time

NDTV has come a long way since that half-hour Friday prime time nugget, achieving the rare double gold-standard of being not only a commercially successful infotainment network in the country, but also the most reputed. The Business World in 2007 recognised NDTV as the most respected media company.

The network has won numerous national and international awards, including the Asian Television Awards for Best Cable & Satellite Channel and NT Awards for Most Popular English News Channel. The Nielsen UMAR survey 2009 established NDTV 24x7 as the most watched English news channel with over 60% viewership.

NT Awards recognised its Hindi news channel NDTV India as Numero Uno Hindi News Channel of the Year in 2008.

It is not just NDTV’s content that has done the company proud, but its production and media software division has also bought in recognition. NDTV is the first Indian producer to win an Emmy award for its work. It was acknowledged internationally with six Promax awards for Outstanding Promos for News and Current Affairs. The engineering team of NDTV has been honoured with Commonwealth Broadcasting Association Award six times for its high standards and extensive technological innovations.
