CURRENT JOURNALS
The JSTOR Current Scholarship Program (CSP) offers a well-known platform, global outreach to an extensive network of libraries, and marketing and fulfillment support to publishers. As librarians and scholars increasingly prefer electronic formats of current journals, CSP can help publishers meet the evolving research and teaching needs of a digital environment. Publishers retain full editorial and pricing control over their journals.

CSP strives to simplify online publishing while creating a sustainable publishing model that benefits the scholarly community.
MISSION-DRIVEN
“Part of our mission is to make sure scholarship endures. There are many small societies who publish a journal but only in the print environment. CSP provided us with a platform that allows us to fulfill our mission by being able to offer these small societies a way to disseminate their content electronically and to a wider audience.”
-Diana Pesek, Pennsylvania State University Press
Bringing important scholarship online to broaden accessibility is central to JSTOR’s mission, and we seek publishers who share our purpose. In 2013, JSTOR helped to make the current issues of 16 journals available online for the first time.
A SIMPLE ONLINE PUBLISHING MODEL
“The big motivator for us joining CSP was our desire to get into the online market. We had our digital content on our own website, but that never really worked well. We had the occasional subscriber, but nothing like the numbers we see at CSP. We were also really impressed by the publisher-friendly model.”
-Jason Barry, Paradigm Publishers
Designed for publishers seeking a simpler solution to publish current journal issues, JSTOR establishes production, fulfillment, marketing, and outreach workflows for publishers to help them bring current content online.
ACCESS TO SCALE
“Where Hesperia might have been lost because of its size, it has actually found more subscribers by being part of CSP.”
-Andrew Reinhard, American School of Classical Studies at Athens
Joining CSP provides access to scale to offer flexible subscription options that publishers, particularly small- and medium-sized publishers, could not offer on their own. JSTOR ensures that all titles are part of multiple subscription options and outreach campaigns to raise awareness and usage.Joining CSP provides access to scale to offer flexible subscription options that publishers, particularly small- and medium-sized publishers, could not offer on their own. WORLDWIDE INSTITUTIONAL OUTREACH
“CSP is a great asset for OHS as we’ve worked to broaden the reach of the Oregon Historical Quarterly. We are simply not equipped to offer digital subscriptions or do the kind of targeted marketing that is so large a part of what JSTOR offers.”
-Eliza Canty-Jones, Oregon Historical Society
Located throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, the JSTOR Outreach team draws upon extensive usage and participation data to connect libraries with the best JSTOR content aligned with their research and teaching needs. We also work closely with regional library consortia and local licensing representatives in Asia, Latin America, and the Middle East to establish an impressive international presence.
SCHOLARLY IMPACT
“JSTOR has helped us increase our portfolio of journals from 13 in 2011 to 30 in 2013. When acquiring new titles, JSTOR’s CSP has been an asset because we can now offer sales of individual titles as well as part of collections. We proudly boast of JSTOR’s extensive worldwide reach.”
-Diana Pesek, Pennsylvania State University Press
JSTOR connects CSP publishers to the scholars who cite journal articles, who submit articles for publication, and who share journals with colleagues – activities that can help advance a journal’s standing in a discipline. For publishers seeking to expand their journals program, CSP can be an instrumental tool in attracting new titles and scaling workflows.
