The Theological Book Network and JSTOR are pleased to announce an innovative partnership to offer ebooks from 17 leading scholarly publishers to ten theological seminaries in India, Kenya, Ghana, and South Africa. The Theological Book Network worked closely with librarians to identify 250 works in theology, biblical studies, church history, and Christian-Muslim engagement to include in this project. The publishers who contributed are:

Augsburg-Fortress Publishers
Boydell & Brewer Group
Catholic University of America Press
Columbia University Press
Cornell University Press
Edinburgh University Press
Georgetown University Press
Harvard University Press
Hong Kong University Press
McGill-Queens University Press
Princeton University Press
Society of Biblical Literature
University of California Press
University of Illinois Press
University of Minnesota Press
University of Pennsylvania Press
University of Toronto Press

All three parties—the Theological Book Network, the presses, and JSTOR—are making a significant contribution to allow for access to the books.

The Theological Book Network saw ebook distribution with JSTOR as an opportunity to utilize technology to lower the cost of making high quality scholarship available to students and faculty. This project will be monitored and evaluated through surveys, interviews, and quantitative data on usage for each ebook and each school.

The Theological Book Network seeks to stock libraries at seminaries, universities, and Bible colleges so that faculty and students may access the books and journals they need for academic and spiritual growth. A well-resourced library creates an environment in which scholars can explore, discuss, engage, inspire, question and enlarge the view of what it means to be a leader serving the global church. In 11 years, the Network has shipped over 2 million academic books to 1300 seminaries in 86 countries.

JSTOR is a digital library of academic journals, books, and primary sources. JSTOR's core collections are available at more than 10,000 institutions around the globe. JSTOR helps people discover, use, and build upon a wide range of content through a powerful research and teaching platform.  JSTOR has been offering academic books on its platform since 2013.  Currently, there are more than 40,000 books from over 100 presses available on JSTOR.
