The 2015-16 TV season is (mostly) in the books — DVR data will straggle in over the next couple weeks, but the same-day viewer numbers are finalized and below.
“Sunday Night Football” was the No. 1 show in viewers for the sixth straight season, averaging 21.3 million viewers for its in-season telecasts. (Shows with an asterisk next to their name in the chart below include ratings for in-season airings only, not those before Sept. 21 or after May 25.)
“NCIS” was the top non-sports series with 16.61 million viewers.

The chart below includes viewer averages for all original, regularly scheduled episodes of shows on the five English-language broadcast networks. Episodes coded as specials, series from summer 2015 that ended after the start of the regular season and irregularly scheduled sports specials are excluded.
