International Sister Cities
International political circumstances have changed rapidly in recent years, and have inevitably brought about an impact on Taiwan as a member of the global village. Hence, it is important for Taipei to promote relationships with other countries. On January 1, 2002, Taiwan officially joined the World Trade Organization, and how to increase internationalization and improve competitiveness has become a key issue for development.

The Taipei City Council places great importance on international relationships and supports the policy of people-to-people diplomacy. Through visits abroad and receiving international visitors, we see the fruits of our hard work in cultivating international relationships. Our council continues to strive for the friendship and understanding of international personages, to increase international exchange and communication opportunities.
