Fighter aircraft loyal to Khalifa Haftar’s Operation Dignity forces carried out Thursday two airstrikes on Al-Jufra military airbase, which is used as a headquarters by the Defense Benghazi Brigades and the rest of the new coalition of forces led by the Defence Minister of the Government of National Accord, Mahdi Al-Barghathi.

Sources from the site in Al-Jufra military airbase, which is now controlled by the GNA Defence Ministry forces, said a number of fighters were injured and one fighter were killed in the Haftar’s warplanes’ bombing of their locations.

According to Mohamed Ahmouda, a pro-Haftar military official, Thursday’s airstrikes resulted in the death of a Brigades commander and the injury of 14 others.

The warplanes that carried out Thursday’s strikes took off from Ras Lanuf oil airport in northern Libya, a military source told Anadolu Agency on condition of anonymity.
