House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes released the following statement today on the Trump Administration’s appointment of Gina Haspel as Deputy Director of the Central Intelligence Agency:

“I congratulate Gina Haspel, the first woman CIA career officer to be appointed as CIA Deputy Director. With more than thirty years of service to the CIA and extensive overseas experience, Gina has worked closely with the House Intelligence Committee and has impressed us with her dedication, forthrightness, and her deep commitment to the Intelligence Community.
