BEIRUT, LEBANON (8:53 A.M.) – The Free Syrian Army-affiliated group Jaysh al-Farouq has joined the Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) coalition.

The addition of this Islamist group based in northern Hama has officially made the HTS the largest Syrian government opposition group in the country.

The HTS has been bolstered with a handful of militant groups joining the HTS in previous weeks.

This was accelerated when the group, dominated by the Al-Nusra Front, were labelled by the United States as a terrorist organization only 10 days earlier.

So much about the myth of 70.000 moderate militants.

p.s. Those that are really moderate fight IS and Qaeda by now and have truce with the government (mostly).

” So much about the myth of 70.000 moderate militants.” => Here, (near) everybody stopped buying it especially since Pr.Balanche which is an eminent ME specialist who lived for about 15y between Syria and Lebanon, pointed that 85% of FSA were nothing else than jihadists and it was in 2012. Yes on most. My post was sarcastic in parts.

p.s. Merkel is still hoping for improved behaviors and seems to hold the other cheek until then. Like all religious. She is from a Lutheran pastor, refugee family of mixed German-Polish descend. I am also refugee descend but more German & Calvinist/United side and more into fighting back. I’d ruin Turk economy to get other election results. Putin and Erdogan have solid electoral support because of the economic development associated with them.
