Organization for Flora Neotropica

Flora Neotropica is the publication of the Organization for Flora Neotropica (OFN), a UNESCO Category B nongovernmental organization. OFN currently consists of 150 Commission members from 30 different countries. New commission members are elected by the Executive Board based on nominations made by other commission members. There is an annual meeting of the Commission and the Board, in Latin America, usually in conjunction with a national or regional botanical congress. The principal goal of OFN is the publication of a complete flora of the tropical American region. However, OFN also promotes botanical study and exploration throughout Latin America and works toward the conservation of the neotropical flora.
