Worst venue/ security in San Diego. I've had multiple female friends groped by security. I've seen security knock innocent people to the ground just to get to someone video taping the show on their phone at a low key country show. Sound is always sub par. I've skipped multiple shows I wanted to see because the observatory northpark is a joke!!! I took a date to a show and after security groped her they proceeded to hit on her with me standing there holding her hand, then threaten to kick me out when I spoke up about their inappropriate behavior. Here's an idea, hire a staff that gives a shit and security that isn't just a bunch of punk thugs!!!

Local Natives put on an amazing show last night. Such a great venue, everything from the check-in to the bar service. Not to mention the sound and visuals were on point. The only gripe I have with this place is I always tend to sweat a lot. Not sure if it's the large crowd, drugs, or lack of a/c. Outside of that I highly recommend The Observertory.

Security is a bunch of assholes to the people who actually paid to see the show, yet they managed to let a group of people get on stage and punch the artist I paid to see perform. After north parks security failure, they forced the artist to cancel the show and no tickets were refunded.

Also note: Security WILL violate your privacy during your pat down.

I highly reccomend going to Santa Ana where everybody doesn't have a stick up their ass and you can actually have fun.

...

Not to mention north park observatory is way smaller than the Santa Ana location.

Cool building, liked the size, appreciate a smoking area where I can drink. Downside: nowhere to sit unless you go in The Den where you then hear all the shit form the club behind it. Bathrooms are upstairs. Balcony is VIP bottle service or something which is too bad because some of us can't stand for hours but also aren't rich pretentious fucks. Also, security could easily be replaced with a metal detector...find more weapons, feel less violated.

When I find myself longing for a trip through airport security you're really doing something wrong. While complimentary "great dress, love your shoes", the obviously untrained security agents are needless invasive. What are they expecting to find? If they're worried about weapons why isn't there a metal detector?
The acts are great and the venue is beautiful, but the indignity of the security experience nearly ruins the experience every time

Everybody that left bad reviews about the security and what not, I could not disagree anymore with you. Security was a breeze to get through yesterday. Not only that but there was one incident and they're on top of it within seconds. Great drink prices, great views, and a great concert. Will be back!

The sound was excellent and I really like the vibe of the place. Parking is easy and affordable in the structure across the street. It's a good venue for live performances, but to be honest I find standing for hours on end to see a show to be unpleasant.

Was there to see Dwight Yoakam. Doors opened late, but quick easy security check after that. 1st act King Legg was surprisingly good. Had never heard of them. But 2nd act X didn't fit the theme of the night at all. One song "Annoyance" described the time waiting for them to leave. Drinks are pricy, so a double with tip is $20.00
I do like the venue size and would go again.

The show was awesome. Hellyeah,Sons of Texas, and RIghtous Vendetta rocked the house. It started out slow in the being but the audience slow moved in later as the show progressed. The only bad thing I have to say about it was some of the audience got a bit out there slamming into the front by the railing where there was young kids that were there for the show and not wanting to be part of the pit, other than that had a awesome time.

Went last night to see Dwight Yocum...the venue was fantastic, but the sound system wasn't good. The food at the bar was okay, but the drinks were weak. I'd never pay for the VIP seats...there were 5 people in a section behind me that had about 30 seats so others must feel the same way.
