Baltimore

7 of us went there on Father's Day right after the Oriole's game. Got a table right away. Our waiter was great knew the menu and food selections. Our food and appetizers were served within a reasonable time. The food from blackened salmon shrimp and grits, crab cakes, were delicious. Our waiter was great and made sure we had everything we needed. We will go back again!

We had such a fantastic breakfast today at Miss Shirley's Cafe to finish off a great weekend in Baltimore. The food was delicious but the service was beyond amazing. Eating out with a very opinionated and active sixteen month old can be quite a challenge (this was literally the only time on our entire trip we even attempted to eat in a restaurant because it came so highly recommended). However, everyone from the hostess to our waitress (Courtney) to the manager (Steve) went out of their way to give her a high five and talk to her. When she started to get grumpy, Steve even brought her a book about how to make pancakes from scratch to help keep her occupied and content and talked to her for a while. It was easily the most family friendly dining experience I have ever had and the staff went above and beyond in every aspect. Thank you Miss Shirley's for being amazing!!!

What a beautiful hotel! We were greeted with piano music in the lobby when we arrived. Nice lobby bar, where we got a night cap while waiting for pizza. I read the self parking lot was a couple of blocks away so we we're prepared with a rolling suitcase and cooler. We discovered as we were checking out that there was a refrigerator in the room. I had checked the room description and didn't see that so it was a nice surprise. There are also microwaves in the vending/ice machine area. We were able to walk to Rams Head Live, although Baltimore St is a little sketchy around Larry Flynn's Hustler club. On the walk back we took a different street and it was fine (not sure what street it was). The hotel extended our checkout until noon with no problem. We also asked to check in early but with Friday afternoon traffic we actually didn't arrive until 430pm. Super comfy beds. Garbage truck pick up at 6am Saturday morning was loud, but nothing the hotel can do about that. We look forward to staying at Lord Baltimore Hotel again!

Friendly hostess, option to wait for a table or be seated in another area bar side which we had to go back out to get into. If we had reservations we would've been seated right away. Reservations were fairly easy to make, we just hadn't but it was just fine by the bar. The servers were dressed in red, white and blue for the 4th. Our server was friendly and attentive. I ordered the Seafood ecstasy and it was orgasmic with scallions, jumbo shrimp, and rich crab meat in a rosé sauce with al dente penne pasta. My daughter ordered the Crab Imperial which was baked in a small skillet. Delicious. Absolutely wonderful.

Arrived in Baltimore and headed to this hidden watering hole to check out the live music, which was amazing ! Seems they have gigs every night with some huge acts, I was only in Baltimore for 3 days, and each night was spent at Ottobar. Having ran clubs and venues in Europe and The USA, it's fair to say I have met more than a few security guards, and I can say, within it doubt, in genuine good faith that the guys on the door here are the most caring, the most chilled you will ever meet. Every night they put this rather tired Irish dude in a taxi and made sure he safely navigated his way home. This place has entertainment every night, including djs, performance art and live music. I cannot recommend it enough ! Thanks for looking after me Ottobar !

What an amazing view! The hotel was great, the room was nice and it was clean. I'm super picky/snobby and i liked it. The staff were above and beyond awesome! Very pleasant and very helpful! I took my kids and we went swimming in the huge amazing pool and they had a hot tub next to it. the pool overlooked the ball park. Breakfast buffet was awesome. (Shout out to the amazing cook, cooking up omelets. He was a pleasant experience in the AM). Like I said I'm a total snob and this hotel was top notch. Throw the awesome Beanery cafe in there and that was the icing on the cake. I do agree with some of the comments of no microwave and no fridge. We had water and stuff for the kids and no where to put it. So that really sucked. Ran down stairs for a drink and it was $3.45 for a sprite. 😡

Went with my sons school. Was super packed with schools but all in all my son got to do just about everything he wanted. The only thing they didn't get the chance to do was the pulley system thing. They loved the bed of nails. My only complaint would be that most of the cafe was reserved seating so we had to wait for a table to be cleared and cleaned so our group could sit down and have lunch... Gift shop is a bit pricey, but we kind of already expected that.

My daughter and I ended up at Ripleys due to a mistake with discounted admission to another local scientific center. Thanks to timing with a Groupon deal we got in for a price within our budget. We both had a blast!! The museum was full of fascinating, odd, interesting, and downright weird things. It was a good learning experience too with great material for writing a school report. The 4D movie was good, but our favorite by far was the mirror maze! Now that we've tried it I plan to bring my other kids too.

I loved the walking path and I believe there are adjoining trails. It seems they have a small butterfly conservatory but it's still cold so I cannot comment on it. There is a cute little play area for kids (climbing, bongos, etc). There is a caged dog park to run around in. They have poke stops there. They have port-a-potties around. I believe it will be extra pretty once everything is green. They have a small building with some taxidermy inside. Our only main complaint would be the walkway to the park from parking lot is small and or non-existent which is dangerous because it is the driveway to parking lot (which, I'm guessing will be packed once it gets warmer and so they will need more spots to park by then).

Such an epically cool museum! The building itself is a work of art! So much cool stuff to see here. We came for the Matt Sesow exhibit, which was awesome, but also enjoyed all the other exhibits. Don't miss the gift shop- it is the coolest museum gift shop I've ever seen. So much cool, interesting, and weird stuff, with really good prices, includes original art too! And we ate in Encantada, the restaurant on the 3rd floor, which was really delicious. A great time! Can't wait to go back!

My husband and I visited the museum today. We had a great time. The displays and exhibits are very well done. A lot of interesting things to see. There is an excellent exhibit about printing and the Baltimore Sun. Raymond, a volunteer at the museum, gave us a real education on printing presses and the history of printing. Raymond is 87 years young and started working at The Sun when he was around 16 years old. He took time to show us how the printing press works and had interesting stories about working at The Sun. Thanks Raymond!

This is my movement Cheers space. Say hi to someone working there, who either co-owns or is on path to co-owning this place. Talk to people you haven't met before. The deeper you look, the more colorful and dynamic fractals of Baltimore you find in the people who make up this place. The coffee is awesome, the $5 specials are usually stellar, pasta dishes are worth it, and the standards still kick it (banh mi, falafel, many grilled cheese options). This place could spin off a vegan bakery, the offerings are that good. Ppl from NYC to the Bay say they wish they had a bookstore like Emma's, and the events are consistently full and free. Home to the Baltimore Free School, check out free classes on the extensive schedule or teach something yourself. This place welcomes all but also reflects its values and tells bigots to leave. Check it out and also order books and meals-to-donate online.

The Arena is run by top shelf management, no question about it. I'm fortunate to live in Baltimore and have a facility that offers so much year round. Most cities don't have what we have. As with any stadium or arena, the food and beverage costs are way too high, unexplainably high. But if we the patrons continue to spend, they will continue to raise the prices. The Arena is owned by the City, and I'm told they have control over that, so I can't fault the Arena mgmt or staff. As for the AFL Baltimore Brigade who I watched yesterday, there is room for improvement, but it appears they are on the right path. I am a part owner of a lower level pro sports team, so I understand and watch differently than the average fan. Wishing them continued growth :) Special thanks to Frank and his staff at the Arena for a continued entertainment experience.

Thank you for bringing the "Rent 20th Anniversary" show here this weekend. I have seen it several times over the years and this show was just as good as or even better! We won the ticket lottery and were able to sit first row center- will never forget that experience. Hippodrome staff - from the box office to the ushers did an excellent job! These shows were sold out and the staff was pushed to their limits- they handled it though! Thank you and please remember to always bring Rent to Baltimore!
