Long Beach

Excellent dining place. Service was great. The ambience was great, even though my friend Sherry and I sat in the back, for the first time with no view of the water.....I didn't want to wait 45 minutes for a waterfront view. Next time I will make reservations. Warning - When calling to ask about the happy hour time....Don't do it... it's better to check online then to ask over the phone because it's too easy to get misinformation.

I was there on a Monday night because it was my friend's birthday and it is all day happy hour and night on Mondays there. The food and drinks were very reasonably priced and good. There was not much of a crowd though, and I left early after this old guy tried to smell my hair. Ewe. Maybe there would be a better crowd on a Friday or Saturday?

Dinner here, is incredible, time after time, or thyme after thyme. As every flavor - from herbs to succulent shrimp are tasted. Dining here, is a sybaritic experience to be savored. Every bite. It is a dining experience complete with live Opera; a separate bar area with a generous happy hour and an upscale menu. Sampling fresh grilled fish and shellfish; prime steaks ( some of the best served in Long Beach ); chops; homemade pastas and mouthwatering desserts.

Had the vegan breakfast burrito it was delicious. I did notice lots of confusion on the whole brunch line vs. coffee and pastry line. They did their best but the hostess is by the bathroom and a line forms by the tables. I will go back again hopefully sit away from bathroom.

I think this is a lovely place for everyone (family or traveling alone). I felt 5 star all the way. The staff was professional and the room service was outstanding. The view from my room was breath taking. I viewed the water and the beautifully lit area going out to the ferris wheel. Also, everything was in walking distance. If there was one complaint it would be housekeeping missed the cup coaster and hair under the bathroom counter (left from previous occupant) that was visible at my first restroom visit. This small thing was not enough to make my stay less than 5 stars.

Last night was my first visit to James Republic. It definitely will not be my last. Let me start by saying the service is amazing. From the bartender, to the hostess to the wait staff. Everyone is extremely attentive. Now, let's get to the food. There were five of us, and we ate a lot. The meat and cheese board was phenomenal. We then ordered the Brussel Sprouts, Cauliflower and Beets to share with our entrees. I had the Charred Octopus. It just melted in my mouth. Of course, we finished our meal with delicious desserts. Oh, and we had two bottles of wine. The wine list is perfect. I hope I made your mouth's water. See you soon, James Republic!

Have to review this particular Westin hotel because the staff went above and beyond for us. I was in town for a leadership retreat and because of proximity we booked there because I had my 11 month old. They always held the door for me, smiled & greeted us. They were so sweet with my little girl. When I told them we had a late flight (I was traveling solo) with my daughter, they allowed me a late check out of 4pm that day so my daughter could nap and so we wouldn't be wandering the airport for so long. The consierge was also amazing, they helped me get an uber and gave me the promo code for $20 off to the airport. Truly kind and lovely people there who do care about customer service and making you feel welcomed! Thank y'all so much for helping this mama out❤ We'll be back next retreat! ⭐️

The hotel is very nice with a great view and the staff was very good at trying to make our stay a pleasant one. Brianna at the front desk was very nice and followed up on our request to change rooms for a better view. It was certainly a well worth stay. I just didn't give it 5 stars because noise would travel well in the rooms we stayed and that was kind of annoying but it didn't last too long so it's still a solid 4 stars in my opinion! The food at the restaurant Fuego was pretty good too.

This visit is only for those that can appreciate history and the symbolism it represents, it is history of what society was looking for to be majestic with the top technology back then. Although I'm too young, I love to learn what we used to be and the Queen Mary just give you that. It takes a while to visit the whole ship and do the tours. Strongly suggest pay attention to small details, every corner, every handle, every step. There's a lot that can be overlooked, things that were made thinking about usage but with style. Also, the tour is not very stroller friendly, you may have to leave it at the waiting site. Our tour guide was gracious and professional to handle our baby's situation and still do the tour loud and clear, kudos to him. This is a very good and strongly recommended whole day activity.

I had an amazing time there during the bear cruise 🚢 bar tenders are friendly, but yes it needs some upgrade and to make the bathrooms door lock 🔐, but for a few hours there, it can be durable

The Long Beach Parks & Rec is the best here in Long Beach. The programs they have really enrich the youth that attend and creates community for the families. I've been involved with the LBPR since I was 12 years old. This is what makes long beach a great city!

My Fiance and i went to the puerto rican festival and we have never been in this park and we really loved it the park is BEAUTIFUL i hope they do it again there

We took my kids there this week. They had the best time and really enjoyed every exhibit. I was a little disappointed because we had behind the scenes tour tickets that were given to us by friends of ours who are significant contributors to the aquarium. When I scheduled our behind the scenes tour I was told our time was 1130. But when we showed up for our scheduled tour we were told that our tour was at 11 and there was no more room for us. They tried to fix it by splitting my family up and doing two separate tours, but the time didn't work for us. My kids are pretty disappointed that they didn't get to go on the tour, but they did give us a voucher for the next time we're in town. I'm not sure when that will be. Besides the snafu, we had a wonderful time there and I'd highly recommend it

Always interesting and culturally stimulating shows! Incredible kind and knowledgeable staff. All ages. Frank Romero's exhibit is the one of the best I have ever seen so beautiful and full of culture and life. He is the greatest over all Chicano Artist of his time. The entire exhibit tell's the story of his life, from Boyle Heights to present and it's a wonderful, beautiful presentation. He is a true master, thank you Frank Romero!

My favorite antique and flea market! Much more authentic than others. We have been coming more than 10 years. My only grip- it's too popular now!�Often rated in the top 10 in the nation. And you know when you hear the French and Japanese and see them buying up everything to take to there shop at home- you have arrived!

I was bummed when I saw that it closed down last year, but I wanted to get a photo by the world famous sign. I was surprised when I got there that they have re opened just 2 doors down. I went in and talked with Kevin for a while and picked up some records and shirts. Definitely a cool place to visit, Kevin is super laid back and down to earth, awesome to do business with. I highly recommend anyone who likes music especially the west coast era stuff to stop by and see the place.

Packed house on Saturday to see my friend's band The Generators then again I went to the Sunday Social the next day. Great music by the DJ and cover band 16 Again. I love this place...never too expensive, security does their job but aren't assholes about it, more than one bartender, great soundman Mike Martt, and it's close to home. Parking can be a little tough on busy nights but that's the only gripe. I'm fortunate to have such a kick ass club near by that hosts top of the line touring bands and also great local bands.
