Nicola Wright portrait

Nicola Wright, Director of LSE Library

Nicola joined LSE in 2008 from Imperial College London where she led the development of the UK Research Reserve project. In March 2015 Nicola was appointed Director of Library Services.

Nicola’s career has focused on leading change in libraries in order to meet the demands of a digital environment.

Nicola has extensive experience in library management gained during a varied career in the higher education and heritage sectors, with roles at the British Library, SOAS and Imperial College London.

Nicola has contributed to a number of national and international initiatives in support of evolving the role of research libraries. She is currently Chair of the Board of Research Libraries UK and was previously a member of the UK Committee for the UNESCO Memory of the World Programme.

Martin Reid portrait

Martin Reid, Deputy Director and Head of Academic Services

Martin joined the Library as Head of Academic Services in May 2012. His team is responsible for teaching and research support and includes activities such as collection development, academic liaison, information skills training and enquiry services.

Martin has a particular interest in intellectual property and scholarly communication.

Martin studied Modern History at Wadham College, Oxford before training as a librarian at Loughborough University. He has worked in academic libraries throughout his career, first at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies and then at UCL, where he was Law Librarian and manager of the Social Science and Arts & Humanities team of subject librarians.

Anna Grigson portrait

Anna Grigson, Head of Content and Discovery

Anna joined the Library as Head of Content and Discovery in December 2012. Her department is responsible for acquisition, cataloguing and preservation of both print and online resources.

Anna has a strong interest in developments in ebooks for academic libraries and has published in this area. 

Anna trained as a librarian at the University of Sheffield. She began her professional career at the Music Library at KCL, moving on to focus on developing eresource collections, first at the University of Westminster and then Royal Holloway.

Beth Clark portrait image

Beth Clark, Head of Digital Scholarship and Innovation

Beth joined the Library as Head of Digital Scholarship and Innovation in June 2016. Her team is responsible for service assessment and development, scholarly communications and research support and the Digital Library. This includes managing project teams, user experience (UX) research, the Library website and implementing developments in digital scholarship.

Beth has extensive experience working with electronic resources, institutional repositories and information and digital literacies.
Beth studied Modern European History at Warwick University and completed a postgraduate qualification in Information Management. Beth has worked at the Institute of Historical Research Library and at SOAS Library where she had several roles including Head of Electronic Services and Deputy Head of Teaching and Research Support.
