Matt Cunningham is a partner in Civic Economics, an economic analysis and strategic planning consultancy with offices in Chicago and Tulsa. 

Matt develops the firm’s analytical methodologies, and brings a data-driven approach to the firm’s varied endeavors, including specialized software expertise in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and the Regional Economic Model Inc. (REMI), and IMPLAN.

Matt is a native of the Hudson Valley and now resides in Evanston, Illinois.  He earned a M.S. in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. in Political Science from Binghamton University in Binghamton, New York.

dan houston, TULSA

Dan Houston is a partner in Civic Economics, an economic analysis and strategic planning consultancy with offices in Chicago and Tulsa.

Since establishing the firm with business partner Matt Cunningham, Dan has developed a diverse consulting practice.  From its original focus on economic development planning and impact studies, the firm has developed expertise in applying the tools of the trade to the study of commercial and retail activity, land use planning, and gambling. 

Dan is a native of Tulsa, where he now resides.  After graduating from the University of Kansas and Tulane Law School, he practiced law in the areas of civil rights and mass torts.  At 30, he returned to school to study community and regional planning at the University of Texas School of Architecture.
