Saudia to start regular flights to Iraq from Monday

RIYADH - Saudi Arabian Airlines will start operating regular flights to Iraq from Monday, Oct. 30.

There will be two daily flights from Jeddah to Baghdad and a total of 28 wide-body flights per week, on both ways, according to Saleh Al-Jasser, director general of the national carrier.

He also unveiled plan to expand the operation to include other destinations in Iraq, in addition to operating direct flights from Baghdad to Madinah.

The first flight will leave Jeddah at 12.35 p.m. on Monday and will reach Baghdad at 3 p.m. Iraqi time.

Al-Jasser said that operating regular flights to Iraq is in line with the growth and development witnessed in bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as within the initiative of the transformation program that is being implemented in the Saudia organization, its companies and strategic units, which aim to enhance the airline’s competitiveness.

Al-Jasser said Saudia has completed all the preparations for starting operation to Iraq and the online booking facility is available on www.saudia.com.
