In this film, William Nee discusses what it’s like doing human rights work in China today, and tells the story of Pu Zhiqiang, one of China’s most famous free speech lawyers, who was imprisoned in January 2014. Attacks on human rights defenders are common in China, but Amnesty International is working to improve the situation. William tells us how, with the help of Amnesty, and through William’s work bringing this case to the world’s attention, Pu was released in December 2015, and why it’s important to continue to fight for freedom and human rights in China.
