Legislature Override Veto From Gov. Pat Quinn
Illinois has lifted its long-standing ban on concealed weapons, ending its distinction as the only state to prohibit its citizens from carrying firearms outside the home.
A bill to allow concealed carry passed each of the state's two legislative houses Tuesday by more than a three-fifths vote, overriding a veto last week by Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn.
