JSTOR provides articles of core scholarly journals in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. You can search the full text, titles, authors, and abstracts, or browse by journal title or discipline. We add new issues of existing titles and new titles on an ongoing basis.

Archival Journals

The JSTOR archival collections feature the back issues of more than 2,400 scholarly journals across 60 disciplines. JSTOR works with a diverse group of nearly 1,200 publishers from more than 57 countries to preserve and make their content digitally available.

Many JSTOR collections are multidisciplinary and comprised of several core subjects, including language and literature, history, economics, and political science. Discipline-specific collections are also available to support focused educational programs, and range from health and science collections to music, Jewish studies, and Iberoamérica.

All issues, from volume 1, issue 1, are provided for every journal, including all previous and related titles. Each journal has a “moving wall,” defined as a time lag between the most current issue published and the content available on JSTOR. Most archival journals have moving walls of between three and five years, but publishers may elect walls anywhere from zero to 10 years. Content is added to collections annually, which means that the cost per page for the JSTOR archive collections decreases every year.

Current Scholarship Program (CSP)

JSTOR’s Current Scholarship Program integrates the most recent issues of journals with archival journals and ebooks on JSTOR.  Current issues of journals are cross-searchable and linked in ways that help scholars discover, use, and build upon a wide range of academic content.

The 2017 program features the most recent issues more than 200 titles from 46 leading publishers. Titles span more than 20 disciplines, including leading journals in core areas such as business & economics, education, history, and language & literature.

Current issue access is provided back to the “born digital” date for each title, and access remains fixed back to this date with each additional subscription year. Subscriptions are available in electronic format, plus print+electronic for some titles. Subscriptions to single titles or discounted publisher packages are available, and institutions can order subscriptions through an agent or directly with JSTOR. Detailed usage data reports and post-cancellation access are also available for all titles.
