Today will be a dry day for most with plenty of sunshine. This afternoon some patchy cloud will develop along with the chance for a sharp shower or thunderstorm in the east. Hot.

Widespread areas of rain with some heavy bursts will begin to move into Northern Ireland and western Scotland, but dry and clear conditions elsewhere. Staying quite warm and humid for England.
