Grassley has been among a number of Republican senators sounding increasingly pessimistic about healthcare legislation efforts after Senate GOP leaders delayed a vote until after the July 4 recess.

“Compared to how optimistic I was the week before now ... I’m very pessimistic,” Grassley told constituents in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, on Thursday.
