The man who started the house of GTA steps down.

Take-Two, parent company of Rockstar, 2K Sports, 2K Games, and Global Star, has announced that its founder and former CEO Ryan Brant has resigned from the company. Brant had been on disability leave since last June, apparently due to a bad back.

Founded in 1993, Take-Two's companies have published many the controversial game (most recently Bully), and has been embroiled in several financial investigations both internally and from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The SEC found that Take-Two had, indeed, artificially inflated its revenues, and the company paid $7.5 million to settle the issue. Brant served as CEO for the company from 1993 to February 2001, after which he served as chairman until March 2004. Since then, Brant had been employed in a non-executive capacity as Vice President of Production.

Paul Eibeler is the current CEO of Take-Two. A successor to the position of VP of Production has not yet been named.
