Miriam K. Carliner Senior Fellow - Economic Studies, The Hutchins Center on Fiscal and Monetary Policy

Nellie Liang joined Brookings as the Miriam K. Carliner Senior Fellow in Economic Studies in February 2017. Liang is also a consultant for the International Monetary Fund's Monetary and Capital Markets Department and is a member of the Congressional Budget Office's Panel of Economic Advisors. Her research specialties include financial stability, credit markets, and the intersection of monetary and financial policy. She has published papers in the Journal of Financial Economics, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and the Journal of Banking and Finance.

Before joining Brookings, Liang was the director of the Office of Financial Stability Policy and Research at the Federal Reserve Board.
