Ambassador of Palestine accredited to Turkmenistan

On the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan A. Nurberdieva received credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Palestine (Tashkent-based residence) Mr. Asad Abd Al-Munem Said Asad.

On behalf of the President of Turkmenistan the Chairperson of the Parliament congratulated the diplomat on the appointment and wished him every success in strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between Turkmenistan and Thailand. Thanking for the kind words, the plenipotentiary representative of Palestine expressed best wishes to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the people of Turkmenistan on behalf of the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

During the meeting the diplomat was briefed on the key aspects of the foreign policy strategy of the Turkmen state based on the principles of positive neutrality and aimed at establishing mutually beneficial cooperation with all countries throughout the world. Particular attention was paid to the key aspects of the ongoing progressive reforms and large-scale national programmes and projects implemented in all spheres of life of the Turkmen state on the initiative of the Turkmen leader. The guest was also briefed on the work of the Turkmen Parliament, its role and objectives in the light of the ongoing democratic changes taking place in the country under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan.

Exchanging the views on the prospects for developing bilateral cooperation, the diplomat noted that the Government of Palestine was interested in fostering efficient partnership, including the inter-parliamentarian relations. The trade and economic, cultural and educations spheres were mentioned as priority fields of bilateral partnership.

In conclusion the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Palestine expressed belief that relations between Turkmenistan and Palestine would achieve the new level and assured that he would apply every effort for successful development of bilateral relations.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Palestine was received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The meeting agenda focused on the issues of the Turkmen-Palestine cooperation.

The guests held the meetings at the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, and at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.
