The job:

REAL SIMPLE is seeking an Editorial Assistant to work alongside our Editor-in-Chief and help keep our editorial operations running smoothly. This person will be a meticulous list-maker, excellent communicator, eager to learn, and excited to collaborate with our entire staff and outside friends of the magazine.

You will:

  • Assist our editor in chief with scheduling and other administrative tasks
  • Work closely with our executive managing editor to draw up contracts and ensure timely payment of writers, photographers, and other vendors
  • Help plan staff and reader events
  • Represent Real Simple at outside functions
  • Assist with social media initiatives
  • Report and write stories, as time allows

You are:

  • Next-level organizational skills, attention to detail, and fidelity to deadlines
  • A demonstrated interest in Real Simple and the lifestyle topics we cover, such as home, organization, food, beauty, style, and books
  • 1-2 years experience working in a role that developed your organizational muscles (internships and school publications are fine)
  • An enterprising, sunny, and solution-oriented attitude in the face any challenge that might arise
