Declare a Major/Minor

How Do I Declare a Major?

FIRST-YEARS AND SOPHOMORES: When you decide on a major, download an academic program changes form or pick one up in the dean’s office in ICC 303. Take the form to the major department, where you will be assigned a faculty advisor. Once you have the signature of the department advisor or coordinator, return the form to ICC 303. Your major will be posted to your records as soon as possible.

To change a major or add a second major, follow the same process. Make sure you indicate the type of change you are making on the form: Are you dropping one major and adding another, or are you keeping your first major and adding a second major?

JUNIORS AND SENIORS: To change a major or add a second major, download an academic program changes form or pick one up in the dean's office in 108 White-Gravenor. Take the form to the major department, where you will be assigned a faculty advisor. Once you have the signature of the department advisor or coordinator, return the form to 108 White-Gravenor.

How do I declare a minor?

For most minors, the declaration process is simple. Visit ICC 303 and fill out an academic program changes form. You do not need to visit the minor department.
