Panoply

Vox Media has selected Panoply Media’s podcast platform, Megaphone, to host, distribute and monetize its lineup of podcasts across the Vox Media Podcast Network. Vox Media podcasts includes shows from its editorial networks Vox, Recode, The Verge, SB Nation, Polygon, Eater and Curbed.

Vox will join other leading publishers on Megaphone, including HowStuffWorks (now owned by iHeartMedia), Gimlet Media, Slate and The Wall Street Journal.

Vox’s podcast network offers a range of content—from daily news (“Vox’s Today,” “Explained”) and policy (“The Weeds”) to business (“Recode Decode,” “Recode Media”), technology (“The Vergecast,” “Function with Anil Dash”) and sports (“SB Nation”). In all, it has 50+ shows and millions of monthly downloads.

Vox Media will have access to Megaphone’s suite tools for publishing, dynamic ad insertion, distribution, audience development, ad operations, campaign management, reporting and analytics.

“We’re excited to work with Panoply and bring our podcasts onto the Megaphone platform,” said Marty Moe, president of Vox Media. “Megaphone’s technology is the best we’ve seen in the market. Their innovations in ad ops, campaign management and targeted advertising technology will help us streamline our podcast operations and increase our revenue.”

Vox will also use Panoply’s Megaphone Targeted Marketplace (MTM) to supplement its own ad sales and monetize more of its podcast inventory, beginning with a limited test across SB Nation’s growing portfolio of team-focused podcasts. Powered by data from Nielsen, MTM is a dynamic audience-targeting technology that spans thousands of demographic segments.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with Vox Media, one of the most successful and exciting publishers in the podcast space,” said Brendan Monaghan, CEO of Panoply Media. “We’re committed to building innovative tools that help partners like Vox Media grow and succeed.”
