SANAA, April 24 (Saba) – Parliament's members on Wednesday chaired by Yahya Ali al-Raie, elevated the president of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi Mashat to the field marshal rank.

The article 111 of Yemen’s constitution stipulates that President of the Republic of Yemen is the supreme commander of the armed forces.

The field marshal rank is the highest military rank in the constitution of Yemen.
