Observations of racial discrimination in Germany

According to the annual Elimination of Racial Discrimination report released by the German State Department, whilst there were some positives, it concluded that there was a lack of protection of individuals and a severe lack of anti-discrimination legislation in Germany.

With the latest report by the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the findings show that Germany faces a long uphill battle in stamping out racism.

The UN Committee members expressed their concerned of reports from mass xenophobic rallies by movements including PEGIDA (Patriotic Europeans against the Islamization of the West) and continuing attacks on minorities, refugees and their homes, businesses and places of worship.

They also said that they were worried that Germany wasn't doing enough to integrate migrants into its society.
