Iran warns against UN pressure
Iran will announce new nuclear achievements if pressured over its atomic programme, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Monday.

"If they (the United Nations) pass another resolution against Iran, our nation will reveal new nuclear achievements," Ahmadinejad told a rally in the central province of Fars, the official IRNA news agency reported.

The United States has warned Iran of new UN Security Council sanctions following Tehran's announcement last week that it was capable of industrial-scale enrichment, a process the West fears Tehran will use for bomb-making.

Ahmadinejad said pressuring Iran by issuing UN resolutions, would make the Iranian nation more determined to carry on with its nuclear programme.

"Those who think that by issuing resolutions [they] can stop our nation, are mistaken," he said.

Earlier, in a televised speech to a rally in the central city of  Shiraz, President Ahmadinejad said Iran would not retreat from its right to nuclear technology.

"The Iranian nation will stand up for its legal right and will not retreat even one iota to preserve its nuclear right," the president stated.

"By misusing international organizations (the United Nations) ... you (the West) cannot pressure Iran to abandon its right."

"Abandon your oppressive behavior. Otherwise you (the West) and your nations will be harmed," Ahmadinejad said, without elaborating.
