Everyday Africa Exhibition at VII Gallery in Brooklyn

Thursday, September 20, 2012 (All day) to Thursday, October 18, 2012 (All day) (GMT -0400)

VII Gallery presents a dual exhibit featuring “iSee” and “Everyday Africa.”

Africa can be the place of extremes that we see so often – but it can also be familiar. Everyday Africa is a work of casual exploration, featuring photographs by Peter DiCampo and Austin Merrill, who have both lived on the continent as journalists and volunteers. Like many documentary works from Africa, this one is humanitarian in its motivations; but rather than draw attention to a specific crisis, we hope this work serves as a much-needed reminder that the mundane and ordinary are ever-present.
