ITN Archive Becomes ITN Source

19 June 2006

A new corporate identity, increased investment by shareholders and the launch of re-branded website

From today, ITN Archive, one of the world’s largest and most comprehensive moving footage collections, becomes ITN Source and celebrates the launch of a re-branded website.

The change of identity is part of a wider company re-positioning, reflecting ITN’s status as a leading provider of broadcast and other content. The new corporate identity underpins ITN’s vision and commitment to delivering Right Content Right Now to all of its customers.

To support this, over £1million will be invested in accelerating the growth of ITN Source and ITN’s 3G mobile business, ITN On (formerly ITN Multimedia). This news follows last year’s multi-million pound shareholder investment which has already funded significant developments in both businesses. Turnover for ITN Source and ITN On has trebled over the past two years and is currently growing at around 35% year on year.

As part of this investment, ITN Source has launched its new website - www.itnsource.com - which has been re-designed to help users navigate the new-look site more quickly and efficiently.

Today’s changes are the first phase of an ongoing upgrade to the website. In September, itnsource.com will introduce a range of new features and services that will make it the most advanced digital video source in the world. Website users will be provided with a comprehensive e-commerce platform where they can set up project areas, select, share and order clips, and manage their own accounts. As well as allowing visitors to view video online, the site will be constantly updated, enabling customers to see brand new footage immediately.

Sue Thexton, Managing Director, ITN Source , said: “Today’s re-branding signifies a very exciting period of change right across ITN. Changing our name to ITN Source more accurately reflects what we do and communicates the diverse range of content we have to offer customers.

“As a business, we have already been living the Right Content, Right Now concept, and the new investment will allow us to do so with even better efficiency. The new corporate vision confirms is that ITN isn’t just a news company, but a dynamic and creative innovator. ”

Mark Wood, Chief Executive, ITN , said: "ITN is now well positioned as a specialist media company with core businesses in the generation, packaging, aggregation and distribution of news and other multimedia content for different platforms. Our news businesses are at the top of their game and the investment in the growth areas of the business has started to bring real benefits.

“The company has the financial strength and the support of its shareholders to exploit changing market trends and customer needs. Together, these developments will help us take another step forward, as we seek to secure our future as an innovative, profitable company.”
