The world’s best hotels, resorts, spas, countries, cities, islands, airlines, airports, trains and cruise lines ranked by 715,000 readers

Today, Condé Nast Traveler U.S. and U.K. jointly announced the winners of its annual Readers' Choice Awards, ranking the best hotels, resorts, destination spas, countries, cities, islands, trains, airlines, airports, cruise lines, tour operators and villa companies in the world. The full list of winners can be found online at Condé Nast Traveler U.S. and Condé Nast Traveller U.K., and celebrated in the November issues on newsstands today.

The Readers’ Choice Awards are the longest running and most prestigious recognition of excellence in the travel industry. More than 715,000 transatlantic readers submitted responses rating their travel experiences across the globe. Launched at the beginning of COVID-19, the results of the 2020 Readers’ Choice Awards survey represent the first time voters made their picks at a time when almost no one was traveling.

It’s something of an understatement to say that this year has been a little different than others. The travel industry continues to face challenges as we start to move back out into the world but our readers are seeking inspiration and are planning their next adventure,” said Melinda Stevens, Editor in Chief of Condé Nast Traveler U.S. and U.K. “This year’s winners are the addresses to support, put together by our readers whose curiosity drives us to explore and seek out new places, and revisit familiar ones with a fresh eye. All of them under one sky.

Each year the Readers’ Choice Awards reveal new trends in the industry, as spotted by CNT's savvy audience. This year saw small, punchy brands like Moxy and Under Canvas appear on the U.S. hotels and resorts lists alongside titans like Rosewood Hotels. There are new lists reflecting our readers’ travel desires including U.K. staycation islands, and a spotlight on individual European cities such as Rome, Venice and Paris. And, for the first time ever, the U.S. got a dedicated spa category, evidence of the rapidly growing importance of wellness for both American travelers and foreign visitors to the country.

The Readers’ Choice Awards celebrates and supports the travel industry. The winners on this list represent the best of the best for our audience and offer plenty of trip-planning inspiration for all the adventures travelers can’t wait to have next.
