Zamalek coach Jaime Pacheco asked his players to put their defeat in the African Champions League final behind them and focus on the future as the team prepare for an Egypt Cup semi-final clash against Talae El-Gaish on Tuesday.

The White Knights slumped to a 2-1 defeat by arch Cairo rivals Ahly in a dramatic final on Friday, conceding a late goal after producing a fine display.

Zamalek are now desperate to rescue their season by winning the Egypt Cup after also losing the domestic league title to Ahly.

"We have to focus on the future,'' Pacheco told his players before the team's training on Sunday.

"We have to work hard in the coming period as we have many challenges to face and many objectives to realize.

"We did well in the champions League final but we lost. It happens and we have to forget this loss and to work again."

Zamalek reached the Egypt Cup semis after claiming an extra-time 2-1 win over FC Masr to continue their bid for a seventh cup triumph in the last eight editions.
