FA Cup: Man Utd through to fourth round - reaction

We have seen Man United play a lot better but they are in the hat. It was there for Watford to ask the questions but it just didn't happen.

Certainly not a memorable one. Manchester United are through to the fourth round though. Watford are out of the FA Cup.

Man United have had little spells at the start of the first half and start of the second half but apart from that they have been one-paced, a lack of options, the system isn't working. But Watford haven't tested Dean Henderson enough.

Anthony Martial wins a free-kick for Man Utd just outside the Watford box. Marcus Rashford fancies it and so does Juan Mata and Alex Telles.

Watford haven't really created a proper chance. United look set to see this out and Dean Henderson will take his time.

This is all about the result but the performance has not been great by Manchester United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will know that but it's about the win.

They have been so sloppy tonight but to give Watford credit, they have turned up and they have had a go, working hard for a new manager.

For the players that have come in for Manchester United tonight, I don't think they can go knocking on the manager's door.

Joseph Hungbo drives at Alex Telles and cuts inside of Nemanja Matic. The two end up clashing - Matic was very static - and Hungbo runs into him. He wins a free-kick but it's easy for Dean Henderson from Ken Sema.

Joseph Hungbo cuts inside off the right. His first touch is heavy but he keeps the ball and eventually gets a shot off, which is deflected behind for a corner off Harry Maguire.

The Watford bench spent a good 60 seconds telling Nathaniel Chalobah to go down so they could make the substitution.

He heads into the stands clutching his hamstring.

Robin: Surely that must be the end of Lingard at Man United. Very poor as usual & just doesn't fit in & try anymore.

Michael: Harry Maguire must be setting a record for how much headers he wins in the opposition box with efforts off target

Zak: If I had £1 every time Maguire has headed off target from a set piece I could afford his transfer fee.

Nathaniel Chalobah is the latest player to come off for Watford.

He's replaced by Daniel Phillips.

Around 10 minutes to go, including stoppage time for Watford to find an equaliser.

Why not have a bit of famous footballing Kens chat? So far we have Ken Monkou and now Kenwyn Jones. And of course, Watford's Ken Sema.

Marcus Rashford wins a free-kick on the left and it's curled in towards Harry Maguire. He heads it over.

Rashford then skips past Will Hughes, gets into the box and tries to beat the keeper from a tight angle but it's a comfortable save in the end. Decent chance!
