Judge Vasta to proceed with existing cases

A judge will continue to make orders, including possible damages, in a case involving the controversial climate scientist Dr Peter Ridd, despite having been relieved of some of his duties and being required to receive counselling from a senior judge.

Federal Circuit Court judge Salvatore Vasta will make orders on August 12 in a case where he found James Cook University had  unlawfully sacked Dr Ridd. The dispute originated with claims about the health of Great Barrier Reef.
