The statement of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs that there are no Armenian POWs in the country is disregard to own commitments and commitments assumed before the international community in the sidelines of the November 9, 2020 statement.
This was stated by Armenia’s MFA spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan in an interview to Armenpress.
“The non-constructive position and behavior of the Azerbaijani authorities threatens the full implementation of the trilateral statement. According to the international humanitarian right, Geneva conventions and trilateral statement on ceasefire, all the servicemen and the civilians captured during the war and after it must be returned without pre-conditions, in accordance with the principle “all for all,”” she said.
Naghdalyan stressed that Yerevan expects effective engagement of the international community and OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries.
