It’s goodnight from us
Fiona Wickham
Editor, BBC TV blog
It’s a nostalgic feeling to write this final closing post for the Love TV blog. Over six years of interviewing cast and crew from BBC television shows, there have been, as you’d expect, highlights galore.
We asked Aidan Turner, out of character as Ross Poldark, whether he was really truly Team Elizabeth or Team Demelza. Line of Duty creator Jed Mercurio answered your questions live straight after the thrilling series two finale. And we shared seven exclusive deleted scenes from Happy Valley after everyone thought series two was all over.
We’ve covered giant variety too, from real-life people who had an unusual experience on set (Mistresses was filmed inside my house) to A-listers like Gillian Anderson on her lead roles as Miss Havisham in Great Expectations (“a woman who is deeply, almost psychotically manipulative”) and DCI Stella Gibson in The Fall (“an enigma”).
Our documentary posts have spanned stories from the assistant producer on Shark – who was afraid…

What makes a piece of furniture a classic? And just what effect did Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen's boudoir decor have on British tastes? The archive collection Home Sweet Home - available now on BBC iPlayer - explores these questions and more, using BBC programmes that have explored interior design through the decades.
And guiding us through some of her stand-out picks from the archives is high-end interior designer Kelly Hoppen, who has strong opinions about water beds...
Kelly's pick: All mod cons: The Pad
I got my own apartment at the age of 17 and you do have this feeling of independence, but I think this programme celebrates financial independence too. It was such a massive shift in terms of the independence of one-bedroom apartments and it was just such a different way of living.
With self-assembly furniture everything was very changeable. I constantly talk about the fact that no idea is a new idea but in those days they really were new.
I mean you look at someone like Max…

Liz Bonnin’s most memorable experience filming Nature’s Epic Journeys
Liz Bonnin
Presenter
There were so many breath-taking moments during Nature’s Epic Journeys but I think the most enduring one for me was watching Nxai Pan, a 2,500km squared salt flat in North-eastern Botswana, come to life during the rainy season.
We arrived at the end of the dry season when the entire pan was dry and cracked, and the place appeared devoid of any life. But with the arrival of the rains, the power of Mother Nature thundered down upon it.
The steel sky began to flash with lightning in the distance and the rains descended upon the arid flats with such force that the entire area flooded at first.

Mary Beard's Ultimate Rome: It's not all sunshine
Mary Beard
Classicist
This is the final post Mary has written about her new series, Mary Beard's Ultimate Rome: Empire Without Limit.
Making a documentary about the Roman Empire partly means visits to the sunny climes of the Mediterranean.
Anyone who has watched the Ultimate Rome series will have spotted that it was sometimes very, very hot. Take those sunburnt arms in Timgad and the scarcely disguised sweat in the Roman August (and that was after a whole lot of anti-perspirant wipes, I promise!). But actually, taking the Roman Empire as a whole, some bits are very cold.
The first bit of filming we did was in…

It's official. One of the most famous women to ever cross Albert Square will be doing so for the last time in a special episode of EastEnders on Tuesday, 17 May.
No-nonsense mum to Grant and Phil, Peggy Mitchell is also one of the best-loved Queen Vic landladies in the soap's history. So in tribute to Peggy - and to the always bubbly Barbara Windsor - these famous faces have been trying out her infamous line: "GET OUTTA MY PUB!"

My Hollow Crown character is leading his own revenge film
Kyle Soller
Actor
The next chapter in the TV adaptation of Shakespeare’s history plays, The Hollow Crown: The War of the Roses, explores some of the writer’s best-known royal characters. But you might be surprised to find that some less widely recognised characters really court our attention in Henry VI and Richard III.
Here to explain the who, what and why about his character, Clifford, is Poldark actor Kyle Soller.
