Looking for reasons to put your confidence in Scripture?

At some point in our lives it’s common to wonder whether the Bible is truly trustworthy. Since the Bible describes God’s character, commands, and plans for humanity, the stakes are high if the Bible is not what it claims to be.

Scripture itself declares it's God’s Word (1 Corinthians 2:12-16; cf. Romans 8:16; John 10:27). But we can also benefit from other evidence that supports our belief in the Bible’s authority. As we become aware of this evidence, our confidence in Scripture grows, and we also grow in our ability to share the gospel with people who typically ask why they should believe the Bible. As Peter exhorts, we should aim to “always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” (1 Peter 3:15).

In Bible Gateway’s Trust the Bible 5-part free email series, we’ll look at 5 reasons we can trust the Bible, drawing on Scripture, reason, evidence, and the findings of various fields of study. We'll learn the answers to questions like, "What is the Bible?," "What does the Bible claim about itself?," and "How has the Bible been globally influential for millennia?"

When you sign up, you’ll receive one quick-read email lesson each week. Once you’ve completed the series, you'll have a foundation of trust on which you can build your study of the Bible for the rest of your life.

We believe reading the Bible is a life-long and life-rewarding journey. And we're excited to make the Trust the Bible series available to be a part of your journey.
