Mr. Farnsworth produced the first all-electronic television image in 1927, and later patented his invention. However, media mogul David Sarnoff, the head of RCA at the time, used vast resources in an attempt to lead the way in television pioneering. He and his chief scientist received credit for the invention. Throughout most of his life Philo Farnsworth battled David Sarnoff and RCA in patent cases as to being the creator of television.
