CAVAL provides a range of professional support activities for member libraries including a facilitated mentoring program, a collaborative network of interest groups plus tailor-made events
CAVAL co-ordinates the academic library Reciprocal Borrowing Program, which provides higher education staff and students access and borrowing-rights for the print collections of 80+ partner libraries
CAVAL owns and operates the purpose-built CARM (CAVAL Archive and Research Materials) storage facility on behalf of members, preserving and providing access to a shared collection of over a million last-copy research volumes. This rich collection is deposited by member libraries for the benefit of future generations of researchers and scholars.
CAVAL also provides member-focussed training and mentoring programs, seminars, workshops and other events. We coordinate a number of interest groups and communities of practice, supporting academic library networking and collaboration.
