Former Chicago Blackhawks left wing Patrick Sharp on Monday sold his six-bedroom, 7,300-square-foot mansion in the Lakeview neighborhood’s Southport Corridor for $3.145 million.

A Winnipeg native, Sharp, 39, won three Stanley Cup titles with the Blackhawks during a long career in the NHL, including skating for the Blackhawks from 2005 until 2015 and then rejoining the team for a final season in 2017-2018. After retiring, he was an analyst for NBC Sports Chicago.

Former Chicago Blackhawks left wing Patrick Sharp on June 21, 2021, sold his six-bedroom, 7,300-square-foot mansion in the Lakeview neighborhood’s Southport Corridor for $3.145 million.

In the Southport Corridor, Sharp paid $2.95 million in 2012 to buy the mansion from its builder, who constructed it in 2009. Situated on an oversized corner lot, the mansion has six bathrooms, a center entry, a foyer with a dramatic curved center staircase topped by a circular skylight, and a three-zone kitchen with a breakfast bar, a Miele espresso maker and a large walk-in pantry. Other features include a family room that opens to two decks and a secure backyard, and a third-floor great room that also opens to two large decks, one of which has an outdoor kitchen.

Downstairs on the lower level, the mansion has a rec room with a state-of-the-art golf simulator, a wet bar and a wine cellar. Outside, the mansion has a heated, three-car garage.

Sharp listed the mansion in April for $3.125 million, which means it sold for above its asking price.

“We had more than one offer on it,” listing agent Jennifer Ames of Engel & Voelkers Chicago said. “There’s a lot of market demand now for bigger homes. Even though COVID is kind of on the way out, people coming out of COVID feel like space is kind of the new luxury. Not everybody’s kids are going to camp this summer, and having space is kind of key. And this was a ton of living space. It was really nicely upgraded and it’s in a great location, in a great public school district and within walking distance to the Southport Corridor and walking distance to Wrigley Field.”

Sharp previously rented out the mansion for $10,500 a month in 2015.

Public records do not yet identify the buyer.

The mansion had a $46,467 property tax bill in the 2019 tax year.
