Jamie Gumbrecht is a supervising editor for CNN’s health team.

She has guided CNN Digital’s coverage on race and identity in the United States, education and the 2010 Census; interviewed Insane Clown Posse and Emmylou Harris; voiced daily news trivia on CNN Student News; and covered the Gulf oil spill, undecided voters in the 2012 presidential election and a south Georgia high school’s first racially integrated prom.

Before joining CNN, Gumbrecht worked as a reporter and blogger at the Lexington Herald-Leader in Kentucky and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

She earned a bachelor of arts in journalism from Michigan State University and a master of fine arts in creative nonfiction from Goucher College.
